Program Descriptions
- Supplemental Nutrition and Food (SNAP) - Formerly Food Stamps
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program is a supplemental food program. It enables low-income families and individuals to buy nutritious food. Benefits are placed on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card to allow easy access in most stores where food is sold. If you and your family are eligible for SNAP, you may also be eligible for other programs. For more information, please call the DHS office in your area.
